Doppler's Tech Diving Blog

This week I have reviewed Doppler's Tech Diving Blog. It is a dive blog by a professional diver, dive instructor, and industry consultant Steve Lewis. He has been diving for twenty years and has thousands of dives under his belt. The man has also written two books on diving. I guess he knows something about the subject. He has had the blog since 2008, writing about once a month.

Tech diving is of course a dangerous sport, and it is evident that Doppler takes it seriously, like any diver (especially a trainer) should. This shows clearly in his texts.

It is quite obvious from the texts that the guy knows what he is talking about, and that takes his diving very seriously. This is clearly not some holiday diver, but a hard core professional, and it shows in the writing style that he uses. The texts are fact-oriented, no-nonsense and educational. I don't think he even tries to add any "fun" to the texts, and why should he? That would only distract the reader from the point of the text. And that lack of fun does not mean dull or bad writing, quite the opposite. The style fits very well with the technical topic of the blog.

I would not go to this blog to find the best new dive sites or where-to-go-for-your-next-dive-holiday tips. That is not what this blog is about. But for good, sound advise on tech diving, this is a blog worth exploring. The blog can be a very useful educational tool for experienced and inexperienced divers alike.

For a bit of technical advise of my own, check out my Changing the Battery on my Dive Computer blog post here.

I hope you enjoyed reading this review! And, in case you did (even a little bit), please share this with your friends and fellow divers. Any comments are also very welcome. Do you know a scuba blog that should be reviewed? Just leave a comment below! And don't forget to read my previous reviews as well.
